Sam used to have several imaginary friends.

Katie asked him where his friend Ricardo went and Sam said. “He was killed by my arch enemy.” Katie asked him why his enemy killed Ricardo and Sam said, “Because he wanted his DNA to make a super brain so that he could be the smartest villain in the world…..”

In the car on the way to trumpet lessons:

Katie:  Mom, do stick shift cars even have a steering wheel?

Me:  (Laughing hysterically) Um yeeeesssssss!!!

(MORE and MORE LAUGHING!!!!!!!)

Katie:  Well, I hear kids talking about how hard it is to drive a stick shift so I thought that the car was controlled with just a joystick instead of a steering wheel.

(MORE UNCONTROLLABLE LAUGHTER!!!!!)

Katie:  So do they make certain cars in stick and non-stick?

I lost it. (Tears rolling down my cheeks.)

On the way home from the lesson I tried to explain to her what a stick shift was and then:
Katie:  So it controls the knees?
Me:  The what?
Katie:  it makes it go from one neeee to the other neeeeee?  (Think car sound effects)
That was it.  I almost had to pull over to avoid hitting something while I was driving.

That’s thinking inside the box.

Katie:  I thought it was weird that I got a small box of Crystal Light for Christmas, so I decided to open it up last night and inside there were two pairs of earrings.

That’s heavy man.

Katie turned on a scent warmer.
Katie:  Sam, you should smell this. Do you like it?
Sam:  No.
Scot:  What does it smell like?
Sam:  It smells like gravity.

Say what?

Scot: I need a four of sticks and a two of buttons. I just saw bird over house.

Katie: Click on the cornery diamondy thing.

Scot: That is the ten of sticks. Where is the three legged dancer? Oh there’s the number T.  I also need an H-bar and a crazy house.
